Welcome
Purdue University's First Power Engineering Organization
We, the members of Power Engineering Society aim to pursue passions related to power electronics, power systems, technical business solutions, professional development, and collaboration with other top engineering schools through various projects and design challenges.
The Power Engineering Society aims to help industry’s transition to the use of electric energy by developing technical solutions and business cases that solve the pressing issues of today. The Power Engineering Society has been founded at Purdue University to hone the skills of the future workforce, such that students’ soft and technical skills may allow them to generate their own solutions using the knowledge that they have gained. Our world as we see it has finite resources that can be used in infinite ways; but only some of those ways will positively impact the use of energy. Our organization will harness those resources and develop metrics and technology to help solve these power engineering issues.
Projects
Fall 2020
IndyGO x Purdue
The Indianapolis Public Transportation Corporation needs our help with their new electric bus fleet. We are working to model and analyze trends the state of charge, driving range, and energy consumption in their telematic data using Python data engineering techniques.

Project teams are set up according to skill niche; this type of organization facilitates rapid solution development. Members are challenged to use the data to create practical solutions that have business potential.
